Jennie Powell

Jennie Powell was born in Glasgow in 1938 but moved to London in time to encounter the personal growth movement and the alternative scene. She studied traditional Chinese medicine and briefly practised in this before finding her poetic calling towards the end of her professional life. Now resident in Gloucestershire, she is moved to write by her natural surroundings and shamanic journeys. Her collection of poems The Grain in the Wood was published by the Lotus Foundation in 2004 and her work has appeared in several anthologies.
