Marko Gallaidhe Profile Marko is a man you don’t meet every day – distinctive in his black hat and silver jewellery, with his long white hair and faerie twinkle in his eye, as though he’s stepped out of a story. He has had a long and varied life, artist, potter, stonecarver, musician, tour guide, occultist – rubbing shoulders with esoteric Who’s Who of Europe. He has led tours of Rosslyn Chapel and Chartres Cathedral, and lectured on aspects of the Faerie Tradition, e.g. ‘From the Cauldron to the Grail – the faerie thread of enchantment’ (featured in his collection). A well-known face on the folk festival circuit, he is in demand at Irish music gigs. He appeared and performed in the Jeremy Sandford documentary, The Spirit of the Gypsies, alongside David Essex. He has been known to silence a boisterous pub with his spine-tingling renditions of Celtic ballads, either sung, or by penny whistle. He is a passionate believer in the reality of the Sidhe, and is one of their finest ambassadors. Robin Williamson once called him his ‘Celt of the Year!’Awen title: The Winged Unicorn (non-fiction) |
