AWEN FORUM: 'The Soul of the Earth'

A bi-monthly evening of inspiring talks, poetry, story & song. Q&A, and discussion, prompted by author talk/performances. Speaker: Lindsay Clarke, author of The Chymical Wedding; The Water Theatre & others. Helen Moore & Niall McDevitt (ecopoets); Kevan Manwaring (story); The Children (music)

 THE SOUL OF THE EARTH

An alchemist once claimed that there is more of the soul outside us than inside us, so what are the relations between the human imagination and the soul of the earth, does it have  roots in the ecological unconscious, and wherein do the springs of creativity lie? Some thoughts from a novelist who lives with such questions but doesn't know the answers.

BIO: Lindsay Clarke is the award-winning author of The Chymical Wedding, Parzival and the Stone from Heaven, The Water Theatre and other novels. He is an associate of the Creative Writing Programme at Cardiff University, Creative Consultant to the Pushkin Trust in Northern Ireland, and has been Scholar-in-Residence at Schumacher College.
